Does Orin follow the Victorian school curriculum?
Orin’s curriculum is aligned with Victorian learning expectations and our regular programs follow the Victorian school year and term structure.
However, we do not simply repeat what students are doing at school. Orin uses its own structured learning sequence to strengthen foundations, revisit important concepts and progressively introduce greater challenge.
Does Orin prepare students for NAPLAN?
Yes. NAPLAN-related skills and question styles are progressively incorporated into our English and Mathematics curriculum where appropriate.
Our priority is to develop the underlying comprehension, writing, numeracy and reasoning skills that help students perform confidently in assessments while also supporting their broader academic development.
What year levels does Orin support?
Orin’s Primary English and Mathematics programs are designed for students from Prep to Year 6.
Rather than placing every student strictly according to school year, our curriculum is organised into six progressive learning levels, allowing students to learn at a level that better reflects their current knowledge, skills and readiness.
How long is each Orin Primary class?
Our core Primary English and Mathematics program runs once per week for 3 hours, consisting of:
1.5 hours of English
1.5 hours of Mathematics
This provides enough time for explicit teaching, guided practice, deeper application and meaningful skill development across both core subjects.
Can I enrol in English or Mathematics only?
Yes. Families may enrol in English or Mathematics as an individual subject.
However, we generally recommend our English & Mathematics package for students who would benefit from developing both core areas together.
The package provides a more complete learning program, supports balanced literacy and numeracy development, and offers the best overall value.

How do Orin’s six learning levels work?
Students develop at different rates, so school year alone does not always reflect the most appropriate level of challenge.
Orin’s Primary curriculum is structured across six progressive levels. Students can be placed at the level that best suits their current ability, with opportunities to consolidate important foundations or progress to more advanced work when they are ready.
This allows us to support both students who need additional reinforcement and students who are ready for academic extension.
Does Orin follow Victorian school terms?
Yes. Our regular Primary programs are structured around the Victorian school year, with learning organised term by term.
Each term forms part of a progressive curriculum, allowing students to build consistently on previous learning throughout the year.
Who develops Orin’s curriculum and learning materials?
Orin’s curriculum and learning materials are developed in-house by experienced teachers and our curriculum development team, drawing on extensive tutoring and education experience.
Materials are carefully structured around clear learning objectives, progressive skill development and purposeful practice rather than relying on disconnected worksheets or third-party workbooks.
Does Orin prepare students for selective school entry and scholarship exams?
Our regular Primary curriculum progressively introduces many of the reasoning skills, problem-solving approaches and question styles relevant to selective school entry and scholarship assessments.
This gives students an earlier foundation for future competitive examinations without turning their everyday learning into constant exam preparation.
Students seeking more intensive preparation can later progress to Orin’s dedicated Selective School Entry or Scholarship Exam Preparation programs.
Who teaches Orin classes?
Orin tutors are selected for their academic ability, communication skills and ability to work effectively with young learners.
Our teaching team may include experienced tutors, tutors with education-related qualifications, and high-achieving university students with strong academic backgrounds.
Tutors teach within Orin’s structured curriculum and lesson framework, helping maintain consistent teaching expectations across the program.
How will Orin determine the right level for my child?
Placement considers factors such as the student’s school year, current academic level, demonstrated understanding and readiness for challenge.
Where appropriate, our team may recommend a different learning level from the student’s school year to ensure the program is neither unnecessarily repetitive nor too advanced.
Will my child receive homework?
Yes. Homework is designed to reinforce important concepts introduced during the lesson and encourage students to practise more independently.
Our focus is on purposeful practice rather than excessive homework.
Does Orin offer sibling, early-bird or advance-payment discounts?
Yes. Eligible families may receive the following discounts:
Sibling Discount — 5% for each enrolled sibling.
Early Bird Discount — 5% when the next term is enrolled and paid for before the current term ends.
Two-Term Advance Payment — 15% when two consecutive terms are enrolled and paid for together.
Full-Year Advance Payment — 20% when the full year is enrolled and paid for in advance.
Where more than one discount applies, the maximum combined discount is 25%.
Discount eligibility, conditions and availability are subject to Orin Education’s current pricing and enrolment policies.
Are Orin classes one-to-one or group classes?
Orin’s core programs are designed around structured small-group learning.
Group learning allows students to benefit from teacher explanation, guided discussion and exposure to different ways of thinking while still receiving meaningful tutor support.
Does Orin offer online classes?
At this stage, Orin’s regular programs are delivered in person only.
We believe face-to-face learning provides a more interactive and focused environment, allowing tutors to engage closely with students, encourage discussion and respond more effectively to individual learning needs.
Does Orin offer one-to-one tutoring?
Yes. One-to-one tutoring is available by arrangement and can be tailored to the student’s learning needs and goals.

How much does Orin tuition cost?
